Assassins

It's that time of year again. A&M RUF is once again playing assassins.

For those of you who have no idea how this game is played, I will give a brief explanation.

The game is played with water guns. Each player will, at all times, have a target (“the person you are after”) and a hunter (“the person after you”). You are informed of the identity of your target, but you will not be informed of the identity of your hunter (although you may figure it out by various means). At any given point in the game, the only two people you can kill are your target and your hunter. You have one week to make a kill. If you do not make a kill within the week then you are disqualified. There are a few times and places in which you cannot shoot anyone... so plan wisely. The game is over when there is only one person living.

I love this game.

I'm not sure how focused I'll be this year... seeing as how I do not live alone. This leaves me a bit vulnerable since it's easy for the other people in the house to forget to lock the door(s) and windows at all time.

I'll be picking up my water "cannon" from my parents' house this weekend. This gun if freaking huge... holds about 2 gallons of water... and can shoot a ton of water extremely far. This will be the gun I'll use when out on a hunt. When I am walking to and from class and various other places I may need to go I will be carrying an old-school Super Soaker. (The ones that if pumped enough can cut flesh... which means it's got some good distance on it as well).

Since I will not be staying at my house throughout this game... I will not have much internet access. I will update ya'll on how the game progresses as often as possible.

The only problem I'm going to have is that I don't know who a lot of the players are... nor do I know where any of them live. This is where I'll need a little help from my friends. I've talked to a few people who aren't going to be playing who will inform me of what certain people look like and where they live.

I haven't yet decided if I'm going to form an alliance with anyone. I may... but I think it would be more bad @$$ to do it without one.

Anyways... I'm super psyched about this. Hopefully I won't get shot early on in the game. That would be highly disappointing.

A little about me:

Here's a long survery I found and figured I'd post on here. I hope it brings about a little insight as to who I is.

Here we go:

1. IF YOU COULD BUILD A HOUSE ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE?
Out in the middle of nowhere… on a huge piece of land… with lots of trees and hills… and possibly a creek… oh… and a pond.

2. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ARTICLE OF CLOTHING
My black, leather trench-coat. I love it.

3. FAVORITE PHYSICAL FEATURE OF THE OPPOSITE SEX?
The face… and eyes. Nothing else really matters.

4. WHAT'S THE LAST CD THAT YOU BOUGHT?
Porcupine Tree: (Stars Die)

5. WHERE'S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO BE?
That all depends.
If I want to be by myself, I like to be out in the woods/forest… away from everyone and anything man-made.
If I want to be with friends/family… then I don’t care where we are… because it will be fun.

6. WHERE'S YOUR LEAST FAVORITE PLACE TO BE?
Hospitals. I hate them. There is to much sadness behind those walls… so much sadness that I can feel it as I walk around. I don’t like seeing people sad… or in pain… so… I hate hospitals. I’d rather be anywhere else.

7. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO BE MASSAGED
My shoulders… and lower back. Speaking of that… I need to go to a masseuse. I’ve always wanted to get a professional massage… but… they’re way to expensive.

8. WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT, STRONG IN MIND OR STRONG IN BODY?
Strong in mind. No doubt about it. I’ve seen the strong in body fail over and over again. The strong in mind can do anything they want so long as they put their mind to it.

9. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING
Depends on the day:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I wake up around 8:45 and 9 in the a.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays I usually wake up around noon.
Saturdays I wake up whenever I wake up.
And Sundays I wake up around 9 and 9:30 in the a.m.

10. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE KITCHEN APPLIANCE?
The woman.
Ok… just kidding. It would be the dishwasher. I absolutely hate doing the dishes. I’d rather clean all the bathrooms than do dishes.

11. WHAT MAKES YOU REALLY ANGRY?
Being lied to, being accused of something I didn’t do, being called a liar, and being taken advantage of.

12. IF YOU COULD PLAY ANY INSTRUMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE
Well… I already know how to play the saxophone… the next instrument I want to learn is the piano. I absolutely love listening to solo piano music.

13. FAVORITE COLOR?
Black… and silver. But mostly black.

14. WHICH DO YOU PREFER, SPORTS CAR OR SUV?
Sports cars. Hands down.

15. DO YOU BELIEVE IN AFTERLIFE?
Does Rosie O’donnell like ice cream?
Of course I do.

16. FAVORITE CHILDREN'S BOOK?
Hmm… probably Alice in Wonderland.

17. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON?
Summer. Heat is good. (unless I can’t turn on the a/c… in which case I like either Spring or Fall)

18. WHAT'S YOUR LEAST FAVORITE HOUSEHOLD CHORE?
Dishes! I will do any chore so long as I don’t have to do the dishes. In fact… I would do all the household chores in exchange for doing the dishes.

19. IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
The ability to teleport anywhere I wanted to. That would be… super hero cool.

20. IF YOU WANT A TATTOO, WHAT IS IT?
Well… I already have two of them. I would like to make my first one bigger… but I have no idea what I want to add around it to make it bigger.

21. CAN YOU JUGGLE?
I sure can. I learned how by glancing through a book.

22. The one person you wish you could go back in time and talk to?
My grandpa. I miss him. He was such a funny and interesting man.

23. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DAY?
Any of the good ones.
I’m not a big fan of the bad days.

24. WHAT'S IN THE TRUNK OF YOUR CAR?
Oh… to answer that is to answer the mysteries of life. I have no idea.

25. WHICH DO YOU PREFER, SUSHI OR HAMBURGER?
Hamburger. Raw fish and seaweed just doesn’t seem too appealing.

26. FROM THE PEOPLE YOU WILL EMAIL THIS TO, WHO'S MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
Well… since I’m not emailing this to anyone… I’d have to say… no one.

27. WHO'S LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
Same as above.

28. Would you rather be stranded on a deserted, small, island thousands of miles away from the nearest civilization; lost in a very large jungle with danger lurking around every corner; or lost in the middle of a very, very big desert with no water with you?
The jungle. That would be awesome! Mainly because I would be the most dangerous thing on the island. ;)

29. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My stomach. That’s the only thing I’m really not happy with. But… I’m about to begin working on that… starting first thing next month.

30. Is your job your passion?
Seeing as how I’m not working at the moment… I’ll have to say no. However… whatever my future job is… I hope I enjoy it enough for it to be considered a passion.

31. Do you believe "Everything happens for a reason."
Everything. Every single little thing.

32. Do you think that people mistake your kindness as a weakness?
Many times they have… but that’s because it is a weakness. Well… it can be a weakness.

33. If you could be born 50 years earlier or later which would you choose?
50 years earlier. People seemed to be a little more moral back then. Plus… there wasn’t as many distractions as there are now.

34. What is the most important thing you can teach your child?
Knowledge about God…
and how to potty by themselves.

36. If you were granted one wish what would it be?
To make everyone around me happy.

37. If you could meet a famous person who would you like to meet?
Hmm… I don’t really know. They’re just people… but… I guess I would like to meet Bruce Willis. Although… I don’t really know what we would talk about.

38. Where have you traveled to?
All over the U.S. I’ve yet to leave the country… but I will one day.

39. Do you take a shower before you go to bed or when you get up in the morning?
Either.
Depending on how nasty I feel.

40. Would you rather have $10,000 or perfect hair everyday for the rest of your life?
Oh wow… I wish I was given that option. I’d take the 10 grand.
I’d even shave my head for the rest of my life in exchange for 10 grand. :)

Neither.

ADIDAS or Nike:
I don’t really care.

In person or over the phone:
In person. The phone is alright… but nothing beats in person.

BOB SAGET!!!

I so badly want to cuss out my computer right now. Then I want to kick it... but I'm going to control myself and not do such.

I had spent over an hour on a post... and right as I was finishing it... I kicked the power switch on my surge protector on accident... which shut off my computer. So I lost the entire post.

Oh well... now each of you will have to stay up late at night wondering what... oh what... could I possibly have to say that would take over an hour to type out.

More to come...

Spring Break and Stuff

Well... as you can tell from my last update, Spring Break started off on the wrong foot. Thankfully it got about a billion times better.

Each day was better than the next... then on Saturday morning I woke up at 7:30 in the a.m. to play street hockey for the first time ever.

As most everyone knows... I absolutely hate watching and playing sports. However, I found that I really enjoy playing hockey. (Now I just have to figure out how to ice skate and see if I can play real hockey)

Anyways... I get out to the fenced in basketball court where we were going to play. One problem though... it was raining... and had been raining all morning.

Thankfully, we played anyway.

All went well... I was running again for the first time in over four years. I was afraid that my knees were going to give out, but thankfully they never bothered me.

I think I ran into the fence about 5 times. One time I hit the fence... but the fence really didn't like that... so it threw me backwards. I tried to catch myself, but ended up hitting the ground... rolled a few times... then landed on my back... in a puddle of water.

The game was going great... right until the very end.

My team had the ball near the goal... so... of course, the other team's defense was attempting to get the ball away from the goal. I forget the guy's name... but he hit the ball... which in turn came flying up... and nailed me right in the... umm... unmentionables.

Now... I've been hit in the boys before... but I've never experienced pain like this. I instantly fell to the ground. And needless to say... I did not finish out the game.

I'm really looking forward to playing again... but before I do... I'm taking a trip to the sporting goods store to purchase some male protection.

Sunday was good... but I really didn't want to leave Austin.

But I had to.

I had a speech to give on Monday afternoon.

Oh... yeah... the speech.

I had about two weeks to prepare for it. Did I use any of that time? No.
So Sunday, I got back here around midnight. I came upstairs to start working on the speech. Since I had to make a powerpoint presentation for it... I started finding all the welding pictures I could that would go with what I had to say.

Around 2 in the a.m. I finally decided that I was too tired to concentrate on school work... set both alarms for 6 in the a.m.... and then went to bed.

At 9 in the a.m. I woke up.

Great.

I had 30 minutes before I needed to leave for class.
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays class lets out at 10:50 in the a.m.

So at 11 in the a.m. I sat down in the computer lab to start working on my speach. My speach class starts at 1:25 in the p.m.

At 1:20 in the p.m. I finish the powerpoint project... print it off... and was in my seat by 1:22 in the p.m.

I had 3 whole minutes to spare.

I gave my speech... and... I think it went ok.

I'll find out my grade next week.

Anyway... I'm not feeling so great at the moment... so I'm off to bed.

Camping?

Spring Break started off being a bit frustrating.

Let me first explain something here.

My idea of a perfect camping trip is going out in the middle of no where with some firearms, a knife, a blanket (or two), and some food (in case your luck as a hunter/fisher is not that great). I would bring a tent... but that would be used only if it decided to rain.

A nearby lake is preferable, but it is no a necessity.

So... now that you understand my idea of camping let me explain how my "camping" trip went during the first weekend of Spring Break.

We arrived at the "campsite" Friday evening. My cousin had already set up his tent and the tent that Christopher, Panda, and I were supposed to use. Christopher and Panda went into the tent to set it up the way they wanted to. I was about to make fun of them because they brought a blow-up matress... but after seeing my cousin's tent... I could not make fun of Christopher and/or Panda.

My cousin's tent was carpeted... the too had a blow-up mattress, except theirs was complete with a head board. They also had a T.V. and a laptop. And lastly, there was a fake chandelier hanging from the inside-top of the tent.

Now... if this isn't bad enough... let me explain to you the kitchen that my cousin brought. He had a dual-top propane stove... and about 30 boxes of all kinds of random $h!t. (I don't even think they knew what was inside some of these boxes)

Now... like I mentioned already... when camping, I prefer to sleep on the ground with a blanket (the pillow is optional). Therefore, I slept on the ground. Everyone thought I was weird.

*confused*

I'm weird because I actually like true camping? I decided it was pointless to explain to them that they were the weird ones. They should've just stayed at home and slept in a tent in their back yard.

So... besides the "camping" arrangements... let me b!+ch a moment about the fishing.

The fishing part of this trip was the most frustrating.

Anyone who knows me knows that it takes a whole lot to actually piss me off. And this "fishing" trip came extremely close to having me throw my cousin in the water.

All 3 days that we spent fishing... the boat managed to be tied off once. The rest of the time we coasted down the lake by use of the trolling motor. Now, anyone who's been fishing before knows that to catch fish you actually have to keep the boat in one general area for at least 30 minutes. But no... the one time we actually sat the boat still... that lasted no more than five minutes.

No one caught any fish while on the boat (mainly because the fish couldn't have caught our lines no matter how starving they were for food... they can't swim as fast as we were flying down the lake).

Actually... that's not true. My cousin did manage to catch a fish... on accident. I swear... he had to have thrown the line directly into the fish's mouth... because the instant the lure hit the water, he immediately began to reel in the fish.

Christopher almost caught one... but the stupid thing fell off the hook about 6 inches from the boat.

We lost about 117 fishing lures and hooks. This was because the second our lines would hit the water... they would get caught on trees or brush that was in the water... but since we were going Mach 10 down the lake the lines almost instantly snapped the moment there was any tension.

I managed to catch a fish... but not on the boat. I was down at the lake around 5:30 in the a.m. and I managed to catch the fish around 7:30 in the a.m. Unfortunately, my fishing line got all screwed up shortly after that... so I had to quit fishing until after I could re-string the line back at the "campsite".

Don't get me wrong... the "camping" trip was still fun. It was just frustrating at times.

Thankfully, the rest of Spring Break has been amazing! I think this is my first time to be home in several months. I got to spend time with my aunt, my new uncle, my cousins, my grandma, my brother, Panda, my parents, and a few friends. I have had so much fun the past few days... and I hope that the rest of this week is just as good as it has been the past few days.

And now... I must go to bed. It's 5 in the a.m. I'm an idiot. Why do I always stay up so late?

Oh... I know why. Video games.

So yes... good night.

???

The obsession with Paris Hilton is one of those things in which I do not understand.

First... I do not find her attractive at all. I mean, she looks like a mix between a Barbie Doll with down syndrome and a chihuahua.

Second... who she is is not attractive. Sadly, a lot of girls listen to her fashion advice which in turn has them dressing like skanks. Also, they listen to her as if she's some sort of authority on how we should behave. Hopefully, when/if I ever have a daughter... she'll grow up to not be like Paris.

Lastly... the only reason she's famous is because she whored herself out by putting her sex tape(s) on the internet. Seriously... had she not done that... she'd only be as famous as her sister... and who really pays any attention to What's-her-name Hilton?

Anyways... I guess that's enough of a rant on Paris.

So... up to come...
Tomorrow (today, technically) I have two tests. One in my math class and the other in my philosophy of religion class. I'm about to start studying for the philosophy class... but I doubt I'll study for the math test. I didn't study for the last math test and I made a 99 on it.

Wednesday I have a mid term in my speech class and a paper due in my English class.
Oh... I made a 97 on my speech. On Wed. I should receive my extra credit points which will put the grade over a 100. (Praise be to God!)

Thursday... I don't really think there's anything on Thursday... other than classes.

And Friday will end my schooling until after Spring Break. Class will get out at 10:50 in the a.m. Then I will be driving home to meet up with my brother and da' Panda. Then we will be camping somewhere with my cousin, his finance, and our friend Kenny. This will be a great break from school.

I feel like there was something else I was going to say... but I completely forgot. Oh well. Off to studying I go.

Cussing...

I have decided to get all of my thoughts together on the topic of cussing. All to often I hear fellow Christians telling each other that we should not use "no no words" for various reasons... but all the reasons that have been presented to me... I do not understand nor agree with them.

Cuss words are simply words. It all depends on how the words are used.

So... my next post is going to be my argument as to why I think it is ok to use cuss words.

If you disagree with me and think it is sinful for a Christian to use cuss words... please hold your comments for the next post... because what ever disagreements there are, I'm hoping to cover them in the next post.

So... keep checking back here if you want to see why I believe it is just fine to use cuss words.

My Speech

So... today I gave my speech. (well, technically yesterday)

My speech covered the basics of EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrom).

Overall, I think the speech went over fairly well. As I was practicing last night, the speech continued to run over 7 minutes. This caused a problem, because we were only allowed 7 minutes to give our speech.

However, once I presented my speech, it only ran 6 minutes and 13 seconds. Apparently I speak a little faster when I'm nervous.

Speaking of being nervous...

Near the begining of my speach, I could tell that my voice started giving out. Not in volume... I... don't really know how to explain it. It was almost wavering. (I think that's the word I'm looking for)

So... we'll see how it all turned out. I should get my grade back on Monday.

In other news...

Tonight's RUF was amazing. John F. talked about something that I really needed to hear (and continue to need to hear). He spoke on lust and porn and things of that nature.

This is one things that I love about the Presbyterian church (although I'm sure there are other denominations that do this too)... but when it comes to talking about sin in our lives, the minister (and other church leaders) don't act as if they've conquered sin. They tell you straight up that they sin as well. In my old church (which I will not post the name to for courtesy reasons) many of the leaders acted as if they've mastered sin... as if they never sin any more.

Anyways... I've got a lot of reading to do... a lot of thinking to do... and a lot of sleep I need to catch up on.

Until next time...
